Kazemattenmuseum on the Afsluitdijk

Open today from 11:00 until 17:00 uur

Just a few kilometres from the Frisian coast you will find the famous kazematten (casemates) of Kornwerderzand on the Afsluitdijk. It is the only place in Europe where the
‘German Blitzkrieg’ advance was stopped in May of 1940. Only 225 Dutch
soldiers knew how to hold back almost 17.000 Germans. A story to be proud of.
